Adams Rescue Mission

  The Agape House is a Christian Shelter Program that has ten self-contained, furnished apartments.  They are both one and two bedroom units with a kitchen, dining area, bathroom, and living room.  We have added bunk beds and a sofa bed to accommodate larger families.

  The Agape house is more than a shelter for the homeless.  We have designed a program that provides opportunities for displaced women and families to become integrated into the community.

   We work together with other local agencies to help our clients find employment, housing, childcare, and educational resources.

   There is a trained staff of counselors to assist the families with their progress.

   Supervised group meetings and other events are in place to help teach and train individuals.

   We also have a Life Skills Coach living at the Agape House to assist us with our guests.

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'  The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for Me."

Agape House Highlights

   Since opening the Agape House in October 1996, we have been able to provide a warm shelter for many women and homeless families.  We have had the privilege of sharing with some of our families that joy of the arrival of a new baby, and with others the excitement of enrolling and completing educational and work programs.  Our greatest joy, though, is in witnessing the transformation of an individual's life after they have gained a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
