The Adams Rescue Mission Men’s Shelter, located at 2515 York Road in Gettysburg, is a Christ-centered program that provides housing for up to 36 men. This program is designed for individuals who genuinely desire to overcome addictive behaviors, including—but not limited to—drug and alcohol addiction.
This is a restoration program, requiring each resident to maintain a consistent 40-hour work week. We also partner with various workforce grant programs to provide the tools and resources needed for residents to gain employment or pursue further education, helping them build a more stable and sustainable future. On-site counseling services are provided at no cost, and all residents participate in daily chapel services and recovery classes. Clothing, food, and shelter are also provided free of charge.
The purpose of the Men’s Shelter goes beyond meeting immediate physical needs. Residents are taught life skills grounded in the Word of God, helping them build a foundation for lasting change. Through the practical application of these principles, men are given the opportunity for a fresh start.
